Kaitlyn was on the verge of breaking. The years she had spent with her father had been like a dream struck through with a nightmare. The first six years of her life where amazing. Her father explained to her that her mother was in a better place, always watching over her. He told her that her mother, Solona Ca'vone would never let anything happen to her. He raised her. He loved her.
But on her sixth birthday, the dream would end. The beginning of Kaitlyn's nightmare would start with a single sentence.
"Death is your future."
He hadn't really spoken to her. It was more a statement to the general world they lived in, she knew. But that single proclamation scared Kaitlyn, and instantly she knew that her loving father was no more.
For years, he trained her into the ground with grueling and bone breaking task and missions. He didn't physically beat her, but he didn't show her any of the love or warmth that she had grown accustomed to in her first 6 years of life.
On her 8th birthday, she was told to enter the past of another timeline and slay her own counterpart. A counterpart that would become a thorn in their side somehow if left unattended too. Kaitlyn's mind was that of an assassin by then, knowing how and when to kill and feeling no real remorse from it. However, when asked to kill herself, the sheer ludicrousy of the situation made her want to vomit.
Standing in front of her self, known as Nia Ca'vone in the timeline she was at, she knew she would not be able to do it. The love and warmth that Nia had was the love and warmth that Kaitlyn used to have, and still held on to in her dreams. Nia spoke to her, the words that would solidify Kaitlyn's future.
"Mama is always watching over us."

She would abide her time, receive her training from him, make him think that she was the obedient daughter he wanted. And then one day, when he thought he was safe, invincible even, she would strike him down.
