Out and about

Taking some time to get out of the house Slade decided to take a stroll about his city. Wearing shades and a scarf he was able to his his general appearance from the public. And with the changing of the seasons none were suspicious of his slightly bundled appearance.

The honking of the cars and the hustle and bustle of the busy pedestrians filled Slade with a small sense of pride. Knowing that the people here lured busy prosperous lives showed he was doing a good job governing the city. To bad not all the people felt this way though. As he continued his walk he would pass a rally of city dwellers, so he would stop to listen.

Our government is corrupt! Are you tried of your businesses being robbed? Do you live in fear for your family's life? Hold our leader responsible and demand that action is taken!

The crowd would cheer as they followed the voice of the young speaker. He thought about revealing himself at that moment, but decided not to for the fear that it would cause complications. He would just shake his head before he continued walking towards another party of town.

Before he could leave his ears would pick up the sounds of sirens speeding towards their location. Pausing for few seconds Slade would score out the situation.

Put your hands up. You all are under arrest. Disturbing the peace, and holding a venue without a permit! Any attempt to resist us will result in the use of force.

As he stood there and listened he felt the use of force was excessive.. These were people that were just voicing their opinion. Even though their opinion was showing him in a negative light. It was still their voice.

A random citizen looked on at the spectacle and shook his head. "Can't we go several minutes without the police harassing people. This is why they complain about the Kage in the first place. He never stops crap like this from happening."

Because I never find out about it.

Slade said chillingly as he walked over towards the incident. His Mind was racing while trying to figure out how something like this could happen. While concealing his identity Slade would approach the officer that seemed to be in charge.

Excuse me officer what did they do? It just looks like they are having a public meeting?

The officer would sneer towards Slade as he answered.

You need a permit, or permission from the Kage himself in order to hold a public event like this. Now piss off before i arrest you for impeding my investigation

Slade would look over his glasses at the officer. His rudeness was apparent and unnecessary. This was more than enough to get under Slade's skin, and the officer could see it in his eyes.

Do you got a problem with how I run my city? After all its only a matter of time before I take that egghead Kage's job.

Slade was personally ready to to blue his top. This half assed cop thought he could take his spot. Luckily this officer wasn't so bright. As he more revealed why the police were acting as such. The rally group was a bit surprised when they heard such s simple minded plan, and were quite perplexed as to how the Kage didn't know that the police were such crooks.

So. You think you can just take my job? Too bad you just lost yours.

With that Slade would toss of his hat and glasses to reveal his identity.

So let me make this really simple. First off public speaking doesn't require any permit or permission. Second, you and your entire department are fired.

He would the turn to the rally goers.

You all are deputized to help keep the peace until I can suitable replacements for the police force.

What do you mean we're fired?!? We have policed and protected this city as you have instructed us to!

The rage was clear on the police chief's face. He figured that reaching the position in the force secured him for life. But the kage's interference cut that dream drastically short.

What are we to do then? We have families to take care of, personal needs to be met!

Your needs don't outweigh the rights of the other citizens. And as for your families....

Slade would pause as he thought up a plan for the families of those imprisoned.

I will implement a program that will help your families while you are in jail. But to be honest you should have put your concern for your family's well being in mind before you tried bullying my citizens.

Slade would raise his hand causing the ground to encompass the officer's feet and hands. He would then turn to the rally, and bowed deeply.

My apologies for not stopping this sooner. I will work on becoming a better leader for the sake of my people.

The analytic gaze of one of the 'citizens' seemed to gleam at the control the Kage had taken over the situation. It wasn't everyday you got to see the head honcho himself dealing with things. Plus, as long as Maya had been in the Terrace, she hadn't seen hair nor hide of the man that was now presenting himself as the Kage. Though the village was still fairly young, she expected the leader of a militia to at least present himself every now and then. Seeing him and hearing what he had to say, she would admit that she was impressed with what she saw. A small smirk pulled at the corner of her lips.

It appeared the next trigger had presented itself quite spectacularly. A lot more subtle than usual, but she was getting used to picking out the triggers when they came. Before the newest kage could escort the criminals away, she would approach with her arms folded and a natural sway in her step.

"Excuse me, Lord Ebonkage, if you would be looking to start a new village police force, I would be happy to enlist. My name is Maria Nagi, a current genin of your military force." She would bow with her right fist over her heart. "I've observed the way the people are treated along with the way they act as well. I believe I could help in regulating new rules if you would like to implement them."

Slade would turn to face the young warrior as she spoke up from the crowd. He would listen to her. And having just dealt with those that abused their power he would be warry.

I admire your resolve young warrior. I will allow you to help out with the cleaning up of my village. Gather a team of two more genin and head to the mission hall. I have posted a few missions there that you can take to inprove your skills.

He would then procede to take the former law enforcement to a holding facility to await their sentancing.

"Sir!" She called just before he could leave, her voice growing just a bit to catch his attention. "Unfortunately, I've also noticed a lack of new and potential shinobi or magician joining your ranks and I fear I don't know any other genin at the moment. If you will, I would like to take the mission you wish of me alone."

Her smirk was gone, replaced with a neutral awaiting gaze. She was a bit annoyed at having to speak so much, but didn't show it. Plus, working with others was definitely something she was not going to do so soon after meeting her Kage. The quick inquiry and response slightly killed a bit of the respect she held for the man after seeing him handle such a delicate situation. She was suspicious of the man's true self. Yet another trigger was pulled and the smirk would return as Maya latched onto the subtle trails of a lie before her.

I'm sorry but i'm not sending a personinto the field solo unless i know they can handle themselves. And i have yet to see what your abilities in action. I don't mind if you find someone to help you, but i can't let you do this alone.

He would sigh as he knoew how most genin were. He had a feeling she was gonna take the mission anyway.

"I have a feeling you are gonna take it anyway. I will give you something that will help you out. Then i will send you some backup as soon as i can. Just don't put yourself in over your head."

Slade felt uneasy about letting her procede with the mission. But then again she seems concerned enought to actually want to help the city become better.

The annoyance she felt grew just a bit more especially when the Ebonkage commented on not knowing her skills. She could have easily said it was because he hadn't been around to see any of her skills, nor any other of his shinobi or magician for that matter, but she felt it best to let things progress with as little need for confrontation between the two as possible. Working together would let them both see what the other was capable of. Regardless, she was a genin and he was a Kage, meaning he held many qualities she did not. She would want to see those qualities instead of calling out his questionable ones right away.

"I await your orders then, Lord Ebonkage." Maya would once again place her right fist over her chest and bow slightly, giving Slade the green light to lead the way to wherever they would be going.

Accompany me to put these men in confinement. Then i shall give you something that can help you out.

He would then motion for her to follow as he levitated the former officers for easier transportation.

Maya would nod and go silent, following Slade to wherever they were to go. She was curious in to what he was going to give her. As things were moving, she placed the previous thoughts to the side, giving her full attention to the mission. She would come back to it later, of course, never being one to let something she wanted to know escape her grasp. Regardless of how long it took.

Saruwatari had been there for most, if not all of the entire ordeal in fact, he was in the crowd of protesters the entire time. However, he remained in the back and didn't participate in the voiced opinions about the kage. Instead, the samurai waited patiently for a break in the tide, some form of trouble to occur, before he revealed himself to be more than just a common citizen among the group. That was when the police force came in and attempted to regulate the crowd through violent, unnecessary means.

Saru narrowed his eyes and prepared himself to be attacked as the police grew closer and closer to his vicinity, though, the officers heading towards him were spared of the impending beat down he'd give them, thanks to the help of the kage.

"How interesting... This guy's the kage these people are protesting? Clearly he's doing something wrong for them to be speaking against his rule like this, however, he quickly put these people in charge of a new police force. Something's fishy in this place." Saruwatari spoke to himself. When he first arrived in the Mylania harbor and came to this place known as the New Terrace "Village," he was culture shocked to see that this was called actually a place called a "city." There were no buildings, cars, or any other of the advanced technologies Saru saw here back in Samui. It took him a whole week just to get used to the entire village

But he did eventually and now he was in that crowd of mystified people, who's respect for their leader just shot up to new levels. Saruwatari had questions for the kage and he hoped the kage had answers.

When the corrupt police force was taken down and being carried away by the kage and a girl who had stepped up earlier, Saruwatari figured this would be his chance to push through the crowd. He decided to follow behind the both of them to the detention area.

As they arrived at the facility they would enter a courtyard with robotic sentrys guarding every possible aspect.

Voice recognition Slade Hyuga, two guest, and fifteen detained.

Slade would then turn and look behind the group. He had been keeping track of a young warrior following them since they left the city.

Hurry up. You should enter with the rest of us.

He would stand there and wait for both the doors to open, as well as the warrior to catch up.

Maya glanced back at the person following them and hid her surprise. She hadn't sensed anyone, though she wasn't trying either. Her focus was on the mission and the enigma of Slade. Taking in the sight of the white haired intruder, she steeled her expression and sized him up.

'Curious...why was he following without making himself known?' She asked herself and folded her arms again. She smirked slightly as she turned from the new arrival and entered the facility first.

"I suppose that would be the second genin." She uttered to Slade as she passed him.

Saruwatari preferred to stay behind the group of detainees. This wasn't because he couldn't trust Slade and his power as a kage to keep the guys in check, but because he was an outsider to begin with, and didn't necessarily trust anybody at the moment. His gaze rarely shifted between his sealed arm and the group ahead of him, however, as they neared the detention area, Saru took the chance to take in all the detail before him.

"Robots, huh? Automatons like them are usually a leisure on Samui, but he has them rolled out like no tomorrow. They don't even look like the kind I read in books back home." He observed and his thought was pulled away by Slade's suggestion of catching up with the rest of them. Saru nodded briefly and picked up his pace. He passed through the checkpoint and entered into the courtyard.

Once in, Saru continued a bit of his detail gathering, before he turned towards the kage and gave a deep bow.

"Forgive my intrusive actions. I merely needed to speak with you and it turns out we are meeting on such... Odd circumstances." Saruwatari rose up from his bow and stood up straight. He caught a glimpse of the mysterious woman who also accompanied the kage from earlier, but kept his focus on Slade himself. "I am Saruwatari Hayato, a samurai from the continent Samui." And thus his introduction had been made.

As they entered they could see how the entire facility was fully automated. It could run it's self for years and you would only have to worry about minor repairs every couple years. The first robots, aside from the security bots outside, were the collar bots. Their function were too

After they were all properly collared more security bots would come and move to their need steep of processing. Though these bots looked bigger than the one's outside. These were made for the physical handling of inmates, and if need be the punishers.

So what do you both think of the faculty?

"It's a technological paradise." Maya said with just a small bit of sarcasm. "But it makes me wonder why you have robotic guards and sentries here and let simple minded people run the police force out there." She spoke her mind as she observed the handling of the inmates. She was curious to see what the prison cells would look like, and even more curious to if the death penalty was a thing here.

"Other than that, it seems full proof. The real question is who runs this place in your absence and how trust worthy are they with your machinery?"

Saru's introduction went ignored for the most part. Either through embarrassment or anger, Saruwatari looked away and scratched the back of his head. Nonetheless, he continued to walk with the group through the facility and took in all that there was to see. The larger bots seemed to be the ones in charge of keeping the prisoners in place and Saru figured this to be an automated jail, that probably didn't need the presence of the kage there. But of course, that was all merely speculation.

Saruwatari listened to the back and forth banter of the woman and kage. A chuckle escaped his lips when the woman mentioned the fallacy of having automated guards patrol a prison facility, while "simple-minded" people ran the police force. He, however, decided not to involve himself in the conversation yet. Rather, he checked the crimson gauntlet on his left hand and made sure everything was in check. There were no attacks this time around, so he felt a bit more confident in the security Okuni provided him with.

Slade was becoming used to the biting tongue of Maya. As he listened he realized that the busy jail was a bit loud as he could barely hear Maya, none toe less the soft spoken warrior accompanying them.

It's a bit loud in here. Let's talk on the way back to the city center.

He would be slightly elevated to make sure he was heard by both.

Maya rolled her eyes, deciding it best to remain silent if people weren't going to hear her anyway. She didn't enjoy talking to begin with and unless she was specifically asked a question, she would remain introverted. So without speaking a word, nor glancing at either of the male shinobi, she followed Slade without question.

Saruwatari managed to hear the reply said from the odd girl who walked with them and the suggested reply from the kage. He figured that it would be a lot later until he'd start talking. Nonetheless, he followed behind Slade and the woman, but stayed behind a bit. Saruwatari still felt awkward being around people, especially after all he's been through, so he just kept to himself for the time being.

Reading the body language of the two Slade knew this team would have a tough time starting off. As they got outside getting off the ground. Probably solo missions would be best to get their feet wet. As they exited the gate Slade would turn to them both with a stern look on his face. A grim contrast to his earlier caring face.

I can tell you both are used to bring loners. I an tell by the way you both have been acting this entire time. I can respect that you would rather work alone, so I make this offer to both of you. You try to work together as a team to help clean this city up, or you both undergo harsh training from me and my apprentice to make sure you both can handle situations yourself.
